Final Inprogress Images

I am creating spaces that do not exist by piecing together spaces that do exist. We often do this in the form of dreams where everything feels like it could be real. I want these spaces to appear like they are about 75% real. I want the viewer to experience them much like we do when we wake up from dreams, I want the viewer to feel like the spaces are real but know that they aren't.

Assignment #3 Proposal

For assignment three I want to extend the moment photography captures by experimenting with creating gifs. I want to use this technique to bring a part of the photo to life. I want it to flow seamlessly so that you cannot tell where it begins or ends. I've looked at a lot of Jamie Beck's work as inspiration. I'm not sure yet what the subject matter will be, but I want them to be a cohesive set of images. I plan on creating 5 of more gifs.

Assignment #2 Proposal

For assignment two I want to blend together the faces of roommates. I would photograph the roommates from the same location within their living environment. Often times people that live together often begin picking up characteristics of each other and I want to explore what that would look like in their physical appearance. I would like to create at least 5 or more of these.

Assignment #1 Final Images

In this assignment I chose to work with things that are familiar to get a better understanding of the technical skills we’ve been working with. I often photograph things dealing with spaces and nature and decided to combine the two. I photographed spaces  and nature elements that most people can relate to or have seen before. When combining the two I wanted people to be familiar with them individually so that they wouldn’t be distracted by trying to figure out what something is rather than enjoying the space. This helps lessen the surreal impact of objects that now have a relationship with one another that don’t normally in real life.
